in Lee County, Florida. The population was 6,561 at the 2000 census.
Fort Myers Beach is truly a resort town filled with lots of cute shops, restaurants,
and bars! A seven-mile stretch of land filled with beautiful sandy, white beaches
- tropical island getaways- exotic tropical wildlife, and many places to relax and
remove yourself from the rest of the world! There is more than 30 beach access points
marked with colorful beach access signs offering entry onto developed, as well as
secluded, pristine stretches of shoreline. One of the oldest buildings on the Beach
is the Pelican Hotel which was originally a honeymoon houseboat owned by Mrs. Anna
Turner. "Ma" Turner moved the boat on to the land at the present site in 1933 and
since then, many additions and improvements have been made. So when you want a lot
of fun, a little relaxation, on a beautiful pristine beach ---it’s Fort Myers!
