It is not surprising that Florida
continues to be the biggest player in luring retirees from around the country. However,
while the state consistently still attracts tens of thousands a year (more than any other state in the country), other destinations are beginning to cut into Florida’s
domination.
As more retirees arrive, there has been noticeable out migration
of current Florida residents to neighboring Southeast states. In some – cases, these retirees are the so-called “half-backs,” those who retired south to Florida and
then decided to move half-way back home to states like the Carolinas, Georgia or
Tennessee, among others.
Never the less, despite any
outward migration of existing retirees, thousand still come each year to make Florida
their new home, together with many others of all ages which come to Florida for
the lifestyle, weather and economic opportunity. |
